    Anatomy

    Uses input type=date; the submitted value remains YYYY-MM-DD while the platform presents its localized picker.

    Consumer classes, styles, and data attributes may extend the surface, but required roles, IDs, relationships, and handlers remain owned by the component.

    Keyboard

    • Tab focuses the date input.
    • Segment navigation, typing, and picker shortcuts follow the browser and operating system.
    • Form reset restores the declared default value.
